The Day It All Changed

Hi, my name is Wale Ajao and I'm a photographer, no sorry I'm a professional photographer. On the 16th of September 2015, I decided to take the first steps of a long, fruitful journey towards achieving my dream.

After practicing amateur photography in school, I decided it was time to go professional. I spent the first few days after graduation searching for the best photography academy/school online and trust me when I say one name just would not go away, Shola Animashaun Photography Academy. Curious and anxious about what I would see and who I would meet, I decided to show at Shola Animashaun Academy on that particular day (16/09/15).

Walking in through the front door with my feet trembling, expecting to be attended to by a fiery receptionist; to my surprise I was attended to by Mr Shola Animashaun himself, head photographer at Shola Animashaun Photography.

We spent the next two hours or thereabout talking about each other's dreams, yes incase you are wondering he did talk about my dreams and goals. We connected almost immediately we started talking, perhaps because I once readed about him in an article published earlier in 2015, I knew in my mind I was home. After almost three hours of chatting and joking, he offered me an opportuinity that changed my life forever, an opportuinity to be an apprentice for a relatively affordable price. I was literally bouncing on my way back home knowing at the back of mind I had gotten a life changing opportuinity and all I had to do now was convince my mum to let me do this; low and behold that was not as difficult as I thought it would be and, I resumed as an apprenctice at Shola Animashaun Academy the following week.

My first week was truly amazing, we had lots of classes (practical classes included) and I experienced first hand a photo shoot in the studio for the very first time in my life. From taking behing the scenes pictures in the studio with the studio's camera to going on different projects with the team, I knew God truly blessed my steps that day.
